Crawling Locations in and around Sequim and Port Angeles
« on: February 25, 2010, 08:21:58 AM »

Here's a quick list off the top of my head of the best crawling locations not on private land in this area.

Salt Creek Recreation Area - Port Angeles - Crawlers heaven. Large monorock slabs and formations and also a nice mix of assorted other terrain for smaller comp trucks and scalers

Ediz Hook - Port Angeles - on the north side closer to the coast guard base good little crawlin spot for a couple of people

Railroad Bridge Park - East End - Sequim - Long Stretches of smooth river rock in dried river beds and along the river itself. Plenty of trails for running scalers on.

Dungeness River at Woodcock Road - Sequim - Large boulders under the bridge itself for hard technical lines, smooth river rock along the river for easier lines

Palo Alto Area - South of Sequim - Tons of crawling to do anywhere the river meets the road

If you know of any spots I've missed please post 'em up, I'll be adding to this list as I find new spots

The Railroad Park was my first crawling experience with Nates rigs. I thought it was very cool stuff! It was kinda wet so some things were off limits, but still an overall fun coupla hrs.

The day we were down there, the river was the highest I'd seen it in quite awhile. You only saw about 5% at the most of what's available down there.

Railroad Bridge Park I'd have to say has been one of the best crawling areas yet.  A hunt for more good spots is underway.

Salt Creek is top shelf too. I'm not sure exactly where in the park, but it's very well known in the NW. We're just so far away from the mainstream comp guys that they never come this way. I'm new to crawling though, so what do I know...lol. I own an AX-10 with some basic mods and upgrades.

The big rock formations that hug the bluff below the campground are awesome, there's some video of it on youtube somewhere. Above the campground by the bunkers has some good trail running for the scalers too.

Working on that problem already

That still has brand new tires on it  ::) >:(
