Lipo vs. NiMh on an AX10
« on: January 20, 2010, 10:47:13 AM »

Can someone post the pros and cons of using either battery type along with location benefits? I'm looking at
  • Elite 2/3A NiMh 1500 7.4V saddle on front axles @ 25.00 a pack
  • Elite 1700 7.4v 35C Lipo Pack on a front axle tray @ 37.00 a pack

Nimh - Bigger, Heavier, More Stable, Doesnt have an issue with water (big deal sometimes)

Lipo - Single pack only slightly larger than half the nimh saddle, More punch volt per volt than nimh, not so good with water

Either pack can be mounted on the front axle though if that's where you want to mount them

}Lipo--servo{     or   }nimh-servo-nimh{   it's all in where the servo sits

I prefer mounting batteries on the axle, and then put my esc on the front upper links

On a side note - let me know when you're going to order a battery; I need a few packs anyway and if we get above $50 shipping is free  8)

Sweet! Thanks for the info Nate!

I'll go with the NiMh saddle. Cheaper and balanced...nothing fancy. Hopefully I can order two packs soon.
