Just got an AX-10 RTC!
« on: January 08, 2010, 09:42:40 AM »

Santa got me a crawler!

I'm just gonna do some low-cost mods and have fun with it. My wife and son seem to enjoy it too. Check out the mods I'll be doing: Budget RTC Build

This is my first crawler and I'm very very impressed with it...especially for the price.

I'm fortunate because I already have the stuff to upgrade the servo, esc, and the radio gear, but it has definitely impressed me right out of the box. The upgrades aren't absolutely necessary to have lots of good fun without breaking as long as you stick to 7.2 volts.

Moving and such...very little time. I'd love to get into the comp side of things. Hopefully things will get better so I have time and funds for it all.

Right now it's just a fun thing when I have time. Tracks aren't always in good shape or available for driving my electric truck or nitro truggy.

I'll try.

I'm losing my shop and not sure what stage of moving we'll be in. I'll keep the crawler out but lots of my parts and tools and stuff might be packed in cold storage till I can figure out a workshop at the new place.

Well, still don't have a shop but I have everything I need to get the AX-10 all setup. I think I'm gonna take Monday and setup the new radio/esc and install the metal links. There was a new pack on Ebay that I couldn't refuse...so I'm on the 7.2V NiMH saddle across the front axle.

Hey Nate, how did you wanna do the packs at CheapBatteryPacks.com?

So....running yet????;)

The batteries....either later this week, or after next payday depending on how things look I'm sending an order down for some more lipos, if you want to add a pack or two to my order that'll put us over the free shipping cutoff, just let me know what works for you, and what you want. I can front the cash unless you want a dozen packs lol. Give me a call after 5 one of these nights we can sort the particulars

Installing the green links and the esc and rx today. Got lots of things on my to-do list.

Yeah, add one 1500 Elite saddle pack with Deans, 6 cell is fine.  ;D I'll stop by to pickup and pay as soon as it comes in if that's cool.

No problem man, I'll let you know when I send the order in, or if it's going to be more than a few weeks before I do.

You want sub c's right?

Yeah 2/3A 1500 Elite cells for the front axles. I'll strap em down till I get plates. Whenever works...they seem to be out of stock whenever I go to order. Annoying. Just let me know and I'll be there as soon as it comes in.

thx man

Np....just make yourself a set of plates, all you need is a dremel and some tin snips. I know where you work, there's tons of material around lol

I think I'll do that! I'll keep my eyes open for a suitable material. Why spend 25 bucks when I can just make the silly things.  ;D
