Revo 3.3
« on: November 04, 2009, 10:42:31 PM »

I've never owned one of these but a buddy was driving one at the track this weekend and I was hella impressed. This particular Revo was lowered with race tires and stiff foams so I'm sure it handles MUCH different than a stocker.

I bought one of the Traxxas Revo's when they were first introduced.  Back then they came with the 2.5 engine. After a few hop-ups ie: Pipe & Header, wheel & tire package, it was a great truck for the rc enthusiast who doesn't want to tackel building their own setup or is maybe unsure if the 1/8 scale nitro units are for them? Traxxas has a great reputation for marketing "Bulletproof" RTRs. I would recommend the Revo 3.3 to anyone who is looking for a tough, fast & fun rc car to own, reguardless if your a beginner to the hobby or a seasoned vet!

Dude, you were driving the heck out of Shawns Revo! You're an awesome driver man. Seems like you can drive anything fast...seriously.

Remember TRCR? You pulled in top mid-pack driving my buggy for the first time, on that track for the first time, and racing with hardcore regulars! Good stuff right there bro  [tup]

Oh yeah, I remember TRCR! Those were the days my friend! My first experience there I was driving a Losi stadium truck with horrid looking blue tires on it. TOTAL NEWB! I could hear smart remarks being made my way because of how loud my spur & pinion were because I didn't know anything about setting gear lash yet--LOL! After hearing a few chuckles from the locals I made it a point to place in the top 3 for the rest of that evening, and that I did! Oh, and those guys stopped laughing if you were wondering? After that night I vowed to always help someone else out if I could rather than make jokes at their expense. You never know when someone may unexpectidly hand you your rear-end in the A-main?

Yep, no skill and no idea what I was doing, just a little determination & a finger full of throttle!

So how do you take one of these from stock to track ready?

Looks to me like shorter springs and shock shafts might be the ticket, but I don't own one so I'm not sure.
